Tutorial on how to integrate Slack and MS Teams Live Chat to Shopify

Shopify is the king of e-commerce nowadays. If you are running your Shopify Store with a team to support the needs of your customers, you will find this tutorial useful.

You may ask why it is beneficial to have SignalZen in your Shopify store. Like it was mentioned, the benefit is for those who run their stores with a team. When you have a team, most likely, you are using Slack or Microsoft Teams for internal communication. This is where the power of SignalZen shows up - you can talk to your store visitors directly from Slack or Microsoft Teams.

Let's go step by step through the integration flow which is pretty much easy but takes several steps to complete.

Step #1

Create an account for SignalZen and go to the "Integration" page on the Console.

Choose the Shopify block to start the integration and you will see the screen with further instructions. It says that you need to copy and paste the given code piece to your Shopify Store theme.

Step #2

Let's do the steps for putting the given code piece into your Shopify Store's Theme.

Open up your Administration page of the Shopify Store and click the Online Store menu item.

Step #3

Click the Customize button inside the Themes page.

Step #4

Click the button with 3 dots and choose "Edit code" menu item.

Step #5

Click on the "theme.liquid" menu item.

Step #6

This step includes 3 actions:

Copy the code from the Console Integration page to the code editor like it showed in the screenshot below. It should be before the </body> code line.
Click the "Save" button.
Click the "Preview store" button and see SignalZen live chat widget in your Store. Done!

Explanation of Step #6

Please be aware, that the code that you need to paste from the Console is located on the Integration page. Once you complete Step #6 click the button "Next" on the Console Integration page and follow further instructions for other integration with SignalZen topics.
